Foo Dog Restaurant dining room design

Interior dining room design for Foo Dog Restaurant in Richmond, Virginia.
Main and Lombardy Street in the Fan District.

Entire project includes dining room design. branch design and flower installation over the bar. two exterior murals on brick. and 30 foot sign across the front of the restaurant.

When designing the dining room, I met with the owner who was excited about an Anime-style design.

I threw a hoodie on a few sketches and decided a strong female character would be Red Riding Hood. The big bad wolves would be played by villainous Foo Dog characters. Riding Hood’s hair turns into branches for the Foo Dog to hide in and the branches wrap around the entire space until they reach the bar where paper flowers bloom.

The food here is amazing. Get the ramen.
